Vibration Meter

A vibration meter (vibrometer) is an instrument widely used for vibration monitoring and control across various industries. Vibration meters are equipped with highly sensitive sensors capable of detecting all vibrational movements. After measurement, the acquired data is displayed on a screen. Some of these sensors are designed to measure relative movements, while others measure absolute movements.

One of the critical aspects in various industries is the vibration monitoring of tools and rotating machinery such as turbine generators, pumps, bearings, motors, fans, etc. If vibration levels exceed specific limits, it can lead to accidents or equipment failure; therefore, measuring the vibration of components and machines is of high importance. These fluctuations and vibrations are measured using vibration meters. These devices are extensively used in the maintenance and repair of mobile industrial equipment. Advanced models are capable of measuring velocity, acceleration, and displacement ranges. Vibration is a mechanical oscillation around an equilibrium point. This oscillation can be periodic, like a clock pendulum, or random, occurring at varying intervals.

Vibration Meters and Balancers

MX10 Balancer

The MX10 Balancer is recognized as one of the world’s premier balancers. One of its competitive advantages over other existing devices is the inclusion of ready-made templates for various types of **Overhung** and **Between-Bearing** rotors.

Wiser Balancer 1X

As you know, all portable balancers globally perform balancing based on phase angle; therefore, the structure for measuring the amount and location of the correction mass after installing the trial mass is the same for all. However, Erbessd Instruments has created a capability for the first time that allows the sensor and tachometer to connect wirelessly to a mobile phone, making balancing easy. Furthermore, in terms of price, this balancer can be introduced as the most affordable balancer in the world.

Wiser Balancer 3X

MX20 Data Collector

The MX20 Data Collector is one of the best data collectors in the world. Its competitive advantages include ultra-fast data acquisition (capturing time, frequency, and envelope data in just 3 seconds). Additionally, the ODS capability in the MX30 equipment* is highly notable among other devices; ready-made models in this equipment allow users to easily select a similar model on-site next to the equipment, displaying the equipment’s ODS in less than 5 minutes

How does a vibration meter work?

Before vibrations can be measured, a sensor (vibration pickup) must be attached to the machine to measure the vibrations and indicate the machine’s vibrational behavior. various types of sensors are used depending on the acceptable vibration model, but the most common is called an **accelerometer**, as it offers more advantages than other sensors. An accelerometer is a sensor that produces an electrical signal caused by vibration. This signal is proportional to the acceleration of the vibration of the machine to which the sensor is attached.

Why is vibration monitoring important?

Machinery vibration can take various forms. A machine component may vibrate with high or low amplitude, fast or slow, with or without noise, and with perceptible heat. Machine vibrations are sometimes designed intentionally and are beneficial; examples include screens (sieves) or surface polishers. In other cases, machine vibrations are unwanted and can lead to equipment failure.
